Is It Time for Auto Air Conditioner Repairs?

Recognizing when your air conditioner needs service is crucial for maintaining comfort and safety in your vehicle. Here are some signs to look out for:

  • Weak or warm airflow from vents
  • Unusual noises when the system is on
  • Foul odor coming from the vents
  • Moisture leaks inside the vehicle
  • Frequent cycling on and off
  • Visible refrigerant leaks

If you notice any of these issues, reach out to us for a check-up. Air conditioners lose about 5% of their efficiency without proper care and maintenance. Sal's Auto Repair is here to help!

Parts of Your Auto Air Conditioner

At Sal's Auto Repair, we provide a full range of services to protect your car's air conditioner. Our team is certified by ASE, ATRA, ATE, and trained by MACS. We work with:

  • Compressors: This belt-driven device is the core of your system, compressing refrigerant gas and transferring it into the condenser
  • Condensers: The condenser cools the refrigerant, dissipating heat released by compressed gas by condensing it into a high-pressure liquid
  • Receivers: This metal container serves as a storage receptacle for the refrigerant; it is also known as a drier because it absorbs moisture from the refrigerant and filters out harmful debris and acids (change every three to four years to ensure quality filtration and prevent chemical damage)
  • Orifice Tubes: The orifice tube (also known as the expansion valve) is a controlling mechanism that regulates refrigerant flow throughout the system, which converts high-pressure liquid refrigerant (from the condenser) into low-pressure liquid, so that it can enter the evaporator
  • Evaporators: The evaporator removes heat from the inside of your vehicle, which allows the refrigerant to absorb heat and become a vapor to reduce humidity

Stay cool behind the wheel. Contact us to keep your air conditioner running efficiently.
